MERCEDES FOOD TRUCK

Mercedes makes some of the best commercial vehicles on the market today, making this brand very sought-after when it comes to food trucks. Mercedes Sprinter vans come as a cab chassis for the ideal, super durable, high-end food truck base. If your needs are even larger, a Mercedes-Benz Vario can accommodate most food truck floor plans.

Premium european quality

If you are looking for more of a vintage look, Mercedes has great classic van options too.

Karpatia Trucks offers you the following options for a Mercedes food truck:

types of mercedes food trucks

1.

new - sprinter cab chassis

With a starting retail price in the US of $40,595 for a 100% new 2020 model and our more modest cab superstructures clocking in at just under $40k with all the basics installed, you can drive a brand new food truck out the door for less than some of our competitors convert used units.

Super structures for the Sprinter can be custom made and fit to any size and requirement. As a base truck, this Mercedes is extremely versatile, regardless of your needs. Whether you need the modest inventory of a taco truck or a full-on professional combination oven and 12 burner gas range, it will all fit in the Sprinter.

With its load weight going up to 5 tons, over 11,000lbs, you can outfit a restaurant kitchen with very few limits and restraints.

Add to that the excellent resale value of a Mercedes and you have yourself a fantastic deal.

2.

recently owned mercedes conversions

The engine of a Mercedes will run over 200k miles without issue as long as it has been routinely serviced.

Many individuals may wonder if Mercedes are expensive to maintain, with costly and complex parts and repairs. Fortunately, there is no statistical evidence of this whatsoever. We believe this stereotype stemmed from rumors that were circulated by other manufacturers or people who do not really know about trucks.

3.

80's vintage mercedes food truck

Most vintage vans are a pain to drive. For this reason, we recommend buyers to transport most vintage food trucks on a trailer for longer distances and 90% of the time we end up installing electric power steering as an upsell when requested by the customer.

Did you recently purchase a vehicle with 150k miles from the ’80’s? Mercedes vintage trucks are fundamentally different than other vehicles because there is no need to replace the engine at all. If you simply get the vehicle serviced regularly, you can keep on food truckin’ for 150k miles more.

Most of these vintage Mercedes Food Trucks are Vario T1 or T2 units, and were maintained by the German government as fire or police trucks. This mean you can expect the most correct and complete service record for a vintage vehicle there is.

step van vs. box truck

Most US food trucks are converted step vans because of the widespread used availability of step vans. You will likely find hundreds for sale on Craigslist and other listing sites. Other reasons to pick a step van are their tall ceilings, ample floor space, ease of getting in and out, and their overall reliability.

Now that we have the benefits covered, we can say hands down the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter has step vans beat on almost all these fronts. The exceptions are their used availability in the US and the accompanying familiarity of unspecialized garages with the vans.

Is deciding then a matter of new vs. used? Not entirely. A converted, older step van can be done from $50k and up, but we can provide a converted Mercedes-Benz Sprinter in that price range if you allow for shipping time. Karpatia is the first to offer this quality of recent used vehicles for US export.

On dealers, Mercedes-Benz stands out by having a very tight control on their dealerships. Every shop will have service professionals that are factory certified, highly skilled, and knowledgeable. From parts and service to leasing, the star is a brand for a reason. You might pay a little more per service but in total the operating expenses of a Mercedes food truck are lower than other models with similar age and usage.
