One of the best rated ice cream shops in Florida, one of the nicest ice cream shops in Florida. You can not sell ice cream that good and not get a 1000 catering requests. And so what is a brick and mortar to do when the catering requests pile up and pour in? Get a food truck, of course. And that could therefore only be one of the best and nicest ice cream food trucks in Florida.

A standard step van felt too industrial and too common, and the cargo van shell of other New Type H conversions lacked the space required for their set-up. The solution was a modern Dodge ProMaster Box Truck outfitted with a retro Caselani Type H body kit. This hybrid approach delivers the massive interior capacity and reliable modern drivetrain of a commercial box truck, entirely disguised behind the charming, highly-photographable aesthetic of a vintage French glacerie on wheels.

While the outside does its marketing job with vintage charm, the interior is a very sleek and modern combination of full commercial stainless steel interior cladding, custom-fabricated stainless floating shelves and durable custom white laminate cabinetry.

The result is stunning and gives a brilliantly clean, highly sanitary environment that can be washed and wiped down quickly after an event.

We are proud of how it looks but the true pride in our buildout here is mostly invisible to the untrained eye. Ice cream trucks can present a fabrication challenge with massive weight and having to vent hot air and keep the product cool. And all that in south Florida! So we had to create a custom ventilation solution.

To solve this without sacrificing valuable interior floor space, we also had to design and fabricate a custom exterior undermount compartment to house the generator, and in order to compensate for this localized weight and the heavy refrigeration banks, we upgraded and reinforced the vehicle’s suspension. This ensures the truck handles smoothly at highway speeds.

A fun little extra detail you can absolutely see is the custom LED-neon sign with the customer’s logo, giving neon sign vibes without the hassle.

With the addition of their custom New Type H Box Truck, Let’s Chill successfully fulfills the many catering order that their brick-and-mortar operations bring in, and the truck’s turned into its own, separate full-service mobile catering wing.

They can now deliver the complete Let’s Chill experience directly to off-premise locations such as weddings, corporate events, and large community gatherings across South Florida.
